Also known as: Aider CLI, Aider AI
Aider is an open-source coding agent that runs in the terminal and stands out for one particular reason: every AI change is stored as a separate Git commit. This makes code reviews and rollbacks trivial. Aider supports OpenAI, Anthropic and Gemini models and is free of charge — only the API costs of the chosen provider apply.
Aider's Git-first approach is a particularly good fit for SEO bulk optimisations. Anyone adding FAQ schemas to 30 glossary entries ends up with 30 separate commits, each one reviewable individually. If a change does not fit, a git revert on the single commit is a matter of seconds.
Example: An indie developer installs Aider with pip install aider-chat, sets their Anthropic API key and runs aider --message "Read rankmio-export.json. Add FAQ schemas to all pages with has_faq_schema=false. One commit per page.". After 12 minutes there are 14 clean commits in the branch, each with a meaningful message.
