Discovery Bundle XL

Q: What is Discovery Bundle XL?

Discovery Bundle XL is Rankmio's extended keyword discovery function. It combines People Also Ask, related searches, Google Suggest, semantic cluster expansion and competitor keyword analysis in a single bulk operation.

Q: How many keywords does Discovery XL deliver?

200–500 per seed keyword, depending on the niche. The starting keyword is expanded into a broad semantic cluster. The result is a comprehensive long tail overview rather than individual keywords. It serves as the basis for topic cluster planning.

Q: How does XL differ from standard discovery?

Scope, depth and clustering. Standard discovery delivers 50–100 related keywords. XL adds semantic cluster formation, competitor analysis for every keyword, KD scoring and search intent classification.

Q: What does Discovery XL cost?

Credit-based, depending on scope. Bulk processing reduces costs considerably compared with individual calls. Current prices: /credits#feature-prices. Results are stored in the Keyword Hub and can be processed further.

Also known as: Discovery Bundle, XL bundle, Keyword universe pull

The Discovery Bundle XL is Rankmio's largest bulk pull module: with a single query per domain, the entire ranking keyword universe is retrieved — up to 1,000 keywords with position, search volume, ranking URL and traffic estimate in one go. An automatic sweet-spot selection then filters the keywords that rank in positions 4–30 and represent realistic optimisation levers. This typically produces 80–300 concrete quick-win candidates per domain, which feed into the position tracker and the action list.

How XL changes the discovery workflow

Classic keyword tracking requires you to form a hypothesis, select keywords manually, add them to the tracker and observe. This systematically excludes the long tail, because you only track what you already suspect. Discovery Bundle XL reverses that: first retrieve everything, then analyse. Keywords surface that nobody would have had on the watchlist — surprising top 10 rankings, new topic clusters, long tail terms on the move.

Sweet-spot selection for positions 4–30

From the raw pull, XL automatically filters the sweet-spot range of positions 4–30, because that is where the highest optimisation ROI lies:

Positions 1–3 are usually saturated, extra effort brings few additional clicks.
Positions 4–30 form the quick-win zone, in which targeted title, meta and content sharpening often enables jumps into the top 3.
Position 31 and beyond demands fundamental content work.

The range can optionally be adjusted per project.

XL and the bulk-first philosophy

Discovery Bundle XL is the direct application of the bulk-first architecture: instead of making a separate tracking call for every planned keyword (slow, inefficient), the whole domain is queried with a single call. This is not only faster — it also uncovers keywords that would never have appeared in a hypothesis-driven watchlist.

Example from practice

Example: A domain with 35 prioritised watchlist keywords ran a Discovery Bundle XL and found that the domain ranks for 478 keywords in total. Of these, 162 fall within the sweet-spot range of 4–30. Top candidates: 8 long tails in the top 10 with five-figure search volumes that nobody knew about; 14 terms in positions 11–15 very close to a top 10 jump; 23 candidates in positions 20–30 with a clear content lever. From this the agency built three new content briefs and a title/meta refresh plan for 18 pages — visibility doubled within 4 months.
